Draft Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) public consultation

The draft Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) sets out how Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Planning Service will involve local residents, local businesses and other key organisations and stakeholders in the plan making process and in the determination of planning applications in the borough.

This will ensure that the Council meets the statutory requirements for undertaking consultation, ensuring that plans and decisions are taken with the involvement of the community.

The Council is inviting comments on the draft SCI.

How to get involved

The consultation period runs for four weeks and concludes on Tuesday, 3rd April 2018. Responses can be made:-

  • In writing and posted to the Growth Team, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, First Floor, One Cathedral Square, Blackburn, BB1 1EZ; or
  • Via email to forwardplanning@blackburn.gov.uk marked Statement of Community Involvement

The draft SCI can also be viewed at Blackburn & Darwen Town Halls, Blackburn Central Library and Darwen Library during normal working hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.
