An exciting development at the centre of the Visitor Centre focuses on a fantastic selection of gifts, books and souvenirs with distinctive Lancashire flavour. Gorgeous locally hand crafted teddy bears, rag dolls and chocolates share shelf space with themed famous Lancashire brands. An ideal location for beautiful and unique gifts with a difference.
The Lancashire book centre specialises in local history, walking guides, maps, heroes and villains, cookery, countryside, humour, poetry and fiction.
Rhubarb cafe and gift shop shares space at the Visitor Centre and opens the doors to a world of quality art and design room ceramics to jewellery to soft furnishings and home wares. Many items are hand crafted by local artists and are utterly unique.
The centre boasts a busy art gallery hosting a year round programme of changing exhibitions.
Summer 2006 saw the opening of the Visitor Centre garden. An attractive town centre breathing space for lunching and lounging and a developing activity area for all al fresco events, lunches and meetings.
Behind all the excitement and razzmatazz of this major new venue, Blackburn Visitor Centre welcomes more than 200,000 visitor enquiries each year whilst providing important support and promotion for more than 500 local tourism businesses and services based across Pennine Lancashire.
