There are two countryside visitor centres in Blackburn with Darwen, both in beautiful surroundings and with free admission.
One is at Witton Country Park, Blackburn and the other at Sunnyhurst Wood, Darwen.
Inside the centres there are activities for children, live animals, maps, trail leaflets, walks guides, orienteering, information and lots more.
The visitor centre is located in a 19th century restored coach houses and stable block. These were originally owned by the Feilden family who were wealthy and influential landowners.

1 mile from Blackburn town centre off Preston Old Road A674, heading towards Preston via Feniscowles.
Cherry Tree and Mill Hill railway stations are both ½ mile away. Blackburn railway station is 1 mile away.
There are regular bus services operating past the main entrance to the park.
There is a large free car park at the main entrance to the park. The centre is a short walk on the level up the main driveway.
Disabled people who want to park at the visitor centre can open the barrier at the car park with a RADAR key. This will allow access up the 400m drive to the visitor centre (please note there is a 15mph speed limit in place).
