What is the supporting people programme?
The supporting people programme pays for housing-related support services that help people to live independently in the local community.
The money is provided by the Government to the Council and is then used to pay other organisations to give people the support they need.
The Council works in partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Primary Care Trust and Probation Service Lancashire to develop the programme. The programme is managed by the supporting people team, which is based in the Council’s social services department.
