Could you be the next Chris Newton or Bradley Wiggins?Young people aged 10-15 years can enjoy their very own cycling event and the first three over the finish line will win prizes from the Cycle and Scooter Centre on Northgate in Blackburn.
The Go Ride races give youngsters the chance to experience the Grand Prix course for themselves.
Anyone can enter who has a mountain bike or BMX and a helmet although some bikes and helmets will be available on the night.
“Go Ride” racing is a British Cycling initiative aimed at giving young people the opportunity to try cycle sport in a safe and controlled environment.
There are three age categories, with race for under 12’s, under 14’s and Under 16’s. All categories have subcategories for boys and girls and riders will undertake two laps of the circuit.
Any young person aged between 10 and 15 years of age who lives in the borough and does not hold a British cycling racing license is eligible to enter.
Riders will need either a mountain bike or a BMX (not a racing bike) and a bicycle helmet. Bikes and helmets are available on the night for those who need them.
Riders using their own bicycle are advised to visit the stand outside Blackburn Cycle and Scooter Centre on Northgate for a FREE 12 point safety check.

Riders must register to take part and get permission from parents or guardians. “Go Ride” racing registrations will take place from 5.15pm in the side room of Blakey’s Café Bar. Registration will close at 6 p.m. .
