You need to attend a citizenship ceremony if you are 18 or over and have successfully applied to become a British citizen.
You must book the ceremony with your chosen local authority within 3 months of being sent an invitation from the Home Office.
Citizenship ceremonies are held in groups of 20 or less.
Access to the ceremony is by invitation only.
You will need to arrive at the Town Hall, Blackburn at least 30 minutes before the ceremony commences for registration.
No admittance is permitted once the ceremony has started. If you do arrive late you will need to rebook your ceremony.
The ceremony will take approximately 30 minutes.
Friends and family are welcome to attend but due to limited space we can only allow 2 invited guests per citizen.
You need to bring with you:
- your Home Office citizenship invitation
- photographic ID, passport or driving licence (in the name which is on the Home Office certificate)
Failure to do so may result in your ceremony being postponed.
