Consultation with children and young people

As part of the SEND reforms, the local authority is required to ensure that children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities are consulted with on a regular basis about services, support and opportunities that are made available to them. The Children and young people’s SEND forum was established in June 2016.

The forum continues to meet three times per year to talk about whatever is important to the young people involved and ask them for their opinions about local provision.

If your child would like to be involved of if you require further information, please contact Disability Links Co-ordinator on (01254) 666711

Consultation is our key focus, and we have regular groups and events held in your local area throughout the year. Consultation is co-produced with Blackburn with Darwen Parents In Partnership (the parent/carer forum) and supported by the Apple Trees Hub and Disability Service colleagues.

We welcome all comments and suggestions about how we can better support Children & Families. These are just a sample of comments received over the past 12 months.
