Registering to vote has never been easier.
You can register to vote if you are aged 16 or over and if you are a British citizen, or a European Union citizen, or a Commonwealth citizen who has, or does not require, leave to remain in the UK.
Electoral registration applications are made individually and you will be asked to provide your:
- name
- date of birth
- address
- contact details
- National Insurance number (if you have one)
These details will be used to verify your identity.

Once you have completed the form your details will be sent back to us.
After we have received the form, it can take up to 8 weeks for your details to be added to the Electoral Register. You will receive a letter to confirm that your details have been added, so there's no need for you to contact us again.
