If you are planning an event in Blackburn with Darwen, please tell us about it so that we can provide guidance where necessary and promote your event on the Visit Blackburn website.
When registering an event you will be required to submit a comprehensive risk assessment, events management plan and public liability insurance documents.
If a formal traffic order is required for your event, a minimum of 6 weeks notice will be required to approve and process the request, after you have registered.
If cleaning and litter collection is required for your event, a minimum of 3 weeks notice will be required to approve and process the request, after you have registered.
Please note, the Events Safety Advisory Group provides advice and support to assist you in running a successful, safe and approved event including directing you to the appropriate services. The advice is given in good faith however, it cannot be held responsible in the event of accidents or the event being unsuccessful in any way.
If you wish to sell alcohol at your event, the correct permissions are required from the Licensing team, as part of the Licensing Act 2003. These must be in place, at least one month prior to the event taking place.
However, if you do not have the necessary licensing, you will then require a temporary events notice. This must be completed at least 10 working days prior to the event, which includes the day of submission, the day of the event itself and any bank holidays.
