Overview
The Blue Badge scheme provides a range of parking concessions for people with severe mobility problems who have difficulty using public transport. The scheme operates throughout the UK.
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council administers the Blue Badge service locally on behalf of the Department for Transport.
Please note, we do not send reminders when your Blue Badge is due to expire. It is your responsibility to ensure that you re-apply for your badge within a reasonable amount of time. We recommend you apply at least 4 weeks before the expiry date of your current badge.
All applications for Blue Badges must be submitted online; we no longer provide paper application forms.
There is no upper age limit for Blue Badges; you can apply if you meet any of the criteria for automatic entitlement, or your mobility is sufficiently limited.
