If you are a disabled resident you may apply to have a disabled parking bay marked on the highway, outside your home.
To be able to apply you must meet the following criteria:
- be a Blue Badge holder
- own and drive a car, or have another member of your family who lives with you that owns and drives a car
- do not have a driveway, garage or off-street parking space
- there is a safe, legal and suitable location that can be marked out
A disabled parking bay is only valid for the duration of the Blue Badge. It is the Blue Badge holder’s responsibility to renew the disabled bay and this can be done within 1 month of the Blue Badge expiry date.
Other Blue Badge holders may still use the bay if they wish.
Due to the large number of applications and strain on resources caused by the recent pandemic, new applications could take up to 12 months to process in full.
