Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and the NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) are working together with partners (including families, education, health and care providers) to improve the support available locally for children and young people (aged 0 to 25) with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) and their families.
Changes have been made to the way the Council, NHS and other services support children and young people with SEND. These were made in response to the Children and Families Act 2014.
One of these changes was the introduction of the Local Offer website.
The Local Offer
The Local Offer website has lots of useful guidance and information on services, activities and provision and includes information on:
- education
- health
- social care
- preparing for adulthood
- support and mediation
- things to do.
The Local Offer is especially for children and young people (aged 0 to 25) with SEND and their families.
Working together to get it right
