Dedicated school bus services
The Council provides bus services to a number of schools in the borough for pupils who reside and attend a school in Blackburn with Darwen. The service is primarily available for pupils who qualify for statutory home to school transport but are also open to a number of pupils who do not qualify for free transport.

Pre-paid school bus vouchers
The BwD school bus services provide pre-paid bus vouchers for home to school transport, which can be purchased online.
Please note that this information relates to Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council dedicated school bus services only.
These vouchers have been introduced to offer a more flexible option to pupils and to replace season tickets and daily bus fares. The vouchers are not valid on any other services including public bus services.
If your school bus service is not listed, please do not purchase vouchers; you will need to contact the bus company direct.
One voucher will be used each time a pupil uses a school bus service.

This service is available 24/7 throughout the year. Please request vouchers at least one week before you require them as it can take up to a week for delivery.
Unused vouchers will not be reimbursed unless in exceptional circumstances.
If you are unable to purchase the vouchers, cash will be accepted on the bus.

School bus pass
School bus passes are available for eligible primary or secondary pupils. The online application form should only be completed if this is your first application regarding transport for your child.
Existing pass-holders are automatically issued with a renewal form in June each year unless the child is in Year 6 transferring to secondary school.
Please note, if your child is transferring to secondary school, you will be invited to complete the application form, if you are eligible.
